THE last official function of Rotary Club of Central Pampanga (RCCP) past President Jennifer Bonifacio was marked by a barrage of praise from well-wisher, guests and members of the club who witnessed the transfer of the presidential duties to incoming president Board Member Ricardo Yabut.
The teary eyed Bonifacio was battling with mixed emotions of joy and sadness as she said farewell to a position which she has marvelously handled. For under Bonifacio’s steady hands RCCP was adjudged as one of the Most Outstanding Rotary Clubs in Luzon.

“I would surely miss being the President but I will not stop helping Rotary even if I am no longer the head of the group. We have helped so many of our Cabalens in this Rotary year. May we still have the unending enthusiasm in serving others,” Bonifacio said.
Good works indeed have marked Bonofacio’s term. RCCP under her has been awarded by the Rotary International Year End Review with the Outstanding Club Award in Community Service, Outstanding Award in Youth Service, Outstanding Club Award International Service, Outstanding Club Award in Vocational Service, among others.
Bonifacio even managed to bag for herself the Club Leadership Award and Oustanding President Award. Those who attended the turnover ceremonies at Bale Kapampangn on Tuesday night could not help but feel proud of the achievements of RCCP.
Yabut, who assumed the leadership of the group, said that he will continue to lead the group into far much greater achievements in the coming months, a daunting task that the new president seems to take to heart seriously.
“I assure every Rotarian of RRCP that I will do my best in sustaining every Rotary’s programs, projects and activities. We have a challenging year ahead to prove that RCCP is bound for even more greatness,” Yabut said.
The night even became more memorable when Second District Board Member Edna David was awarded the Presidential Award for Community Service, an honor given only to outstanding Rotarians who have distinguished themselves prominently in community service despite of the odds.
“I am honored to receive this award and will continue to serve RCCP under its new leadership. Being a Rotarian is not just as duty but a vocation towards service,” David said during the event.
RCCP expects so much from President Yabut. And as for past President Jeng, a long vacation awaits her, a worthy reward for good deeds done.
