CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The country's first ever assembled "Bigfoot" truck is made in Pampanga, said Obet Manarang, who owns and fabricated the vehicle to the tune of just P300,000.
Manarang, a member of Pampanga Off Roaders Club, told Sun.Star: "No doubt it is the country's first 'Bigfoot' truck fabricated. It started as a hobby of mine and it took me about four years to put it together with the help of Machinex master machinists Ryan Pacia, who provided the shackles and beadlocks."

He said Machinex, which is located in Barangay Malino in this city, perfectly fabricated the essential land cruiser shackles and beadlock wheels that put the truck in good form.
But Manarang said it could have cost more if he didn't have some very vital parts on hand.
"Fortunately, I had important parts in my garage. It's an all-American Bigfoot with a truck's chassis, diesel engine, Michelline tires and imported parts that would cost about P1 million," said Manarang.
Manarang's "Bigfoot" is set to see action in the 4x4 Off Road Philippines Race at SM City Pampanga on Saturday and Sunday. (JTD)
