SM CLARK, together with the angelescitysite.com, has launched the latest cyberzone development of SM Supermalls through its first Wi-Fi access last Saturday at the Event Center.

“We actually installed the Wi-Fi as early as May 30 as a soft launch but as part of cyberzone growth, we (SM) made this event together with the angelescitysite.com for pilot testing,” SM Clark marketing manager Jefferson Suarez said.

About 140 participants have registered. They brought their laptops and received free coffee and snack as well as souvenirs.

“It’s part of adding another feature. The next months will be more for cyber fashion for SM malls so it could also attract people,” Suarez said.

The Wi-Fi hotspot is made possible in partnership with Phil.Com, a Makati-based communications service.

People at the mall can also now be connected anytime within the mall free of charge.

Phil.Com head for sales and marketing Jennifer Silan said: “It’s password-free so it’s very easy. Basically the speed depends on the size of the mall so for a small one, it could be as fast as 5mbps while for bigger ones, 10 mbps.”

Angelescitysite.com, has been this event’s main partnership on launching the Wi-Fi. A quick and exciting access to the web includes already free features such as chatroom, forum, daily horoscope, movie schedules, hot job, directory, buy and sell, hotlines, blogs, and jokes.

According to Kate Tinio Pingol, corporate partner of angelescitysite.com, prizes and souvenirs include t-shirts, caps, and pens from Phil.com, gift certificates and accessories from SM Mall, and gift certificates worth P500 from Bacolod Chicken Inasal. Beatico gave free coffee to all those who registered.
