OWING to the popularity of the pop-comedy-drama show “Glee,” SM Supermalls have capitalized in bringing to the mainstream Glee’s musicale influence among young choir groups in the country with its Generation Glee Showchoir competition.

The Generation Glee Showchoir Showdown Regional Finals at SM City Clark was in fact a blast of the best vocal ensemble with the representatives from SM City Clark, SM City Tarlac, SM City Rosales and SM City Baguio displaying their musicale prowess in what could be pure youthful energy. Open to any high school and college pop chorale groups composed of 6-12 members, age 14 to 19 years old, the event really brought in the best young choral voices from different regions.

“Because of the major success of Glee show in the US, SM Supermalls have adapted the Glee choir showdown and Sony BMG as the major sponsor just released the sound of the famous musical drama series,” SM City Clark Public Relations Officer Venus Manalang said.

SM City Clark’s representatives to the competition were choral groups from Holy Angel University and Angeles University Foundation. The grueling competition resulted in Angeles University Foundation winning this year’s competition, followed by MCS Glee at first place and Don Pedro Choir at second place.

Grand Champions in the various SM regional finals will compete this Sept 25, 2010 at SM Megamall.
