Cycling caravan kicks off ‘Pyestang Fernandino’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The traditional Oca-EdSa Cycling Caravan held Saturday officially started the month-long “Pyestang Fernandino 2013” celebrations in this city.

More than 2,000 bikers from some 40 cycling groups across Pampanga, including volunteers and enthusiasts, pedaled their way in the grueling 95-kilometer run that snaked through the towns of Bacolor, Mexico, Sta. Ana and Arayat. The cycling started past 5 a.m. at the San Fernando City Hall.

Top golfers join 2nd Annyka golf tournament

CLARK, Pampanga -- Top Junior Golfers from different parts of the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region joined the much-awaited 2nd Annyka Chanel Junior Golf Invitational Tournament held last May 3 at the Mimosa Golf and Country Club here.

Chona Dela Paz, President of the Junior Golfers League Team, told Sun.Star Pampanga that the whole-day tournament was participated by some 39 junior golfers from Philippines, Japan and Taiwan.

Tourism office, Attap set fun run on May 11

ANGELES CITY -- The Department of Tourism (DOT), in cooperation with the Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies of Pampanga (Attap), scheduled a night fun run inside the Clark Freeport on May 11.

DOT Central Luzon Director Ronnie Tiotuico said proceeds from the fun run will go to special children under various programs of the Department of Education (DepEd) in the city.

The bikers from more than 40 clubs blazed through the 65-kilometer route covering the 3rd District towns of Mexico, Sta. Ana -- stopping to plant trees at Mt. CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Bryan Eribal III of Barangay Balubad, Porac town retained his world ranking as he finished 17 overall in the recent World-Soft Darts Championship 2012 at the KTEC Kowloon International Trade Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong that was participated in by 128 players from different countries.

Eribal, an endorser of Toby’s sports products, defeated top players from Japan and other nations en route to entering Round 32. The 33-year-old top dart player is the number one in the country.
