CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The University of the Assumption (UA) here vehemently denied reports that they are pulling out their participation in the coming Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) in Zamboanga City next month.
UA sports director May Flores denied reports from a certain Roger Banzuela, Western Visayas Prisaa regional executive director that the said university is among the schools planning to boycott the annual event.

Flores also denied that they are calling for an immediate reorganization of the association’s leadership – apparently the resignation of Dr. Emmanuel Angeles as Prisaa national president -- as written in news reports in Bacolod City.
Banzuela recently bared that aside from the University of St. La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod and the University of San Agustin (USA) in Iloilo, among other schools which signified their decision to boycott the games are the Foundation University, Silliman University and Negros Oriental State University in Dumaguete City; St. Louis University in Baguio City; University of the Assumption and Holy Angel University in Pampanga; and University of Northern Philippines in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
“As for my stint as this university’s sports director, I did not sign any document, paper or manifesto on behalf of our school signifying our decision to boycott the games,” Flores said.
“We are not also calling for the replacement of Dr. Emmanuel Angeles,” he added, contrary to Banzuela’s statement that the subject schools are “calling for the immediate reorganization of the Prisaa national leadership.”
Flores said their group was surprised after being informed about the said issue adding that she could not remember any incident that she signed a document pulling out their participation in the said annual event.
“We are going to Zamboanga this April and we do not have any plans to boycott Prisaa,” Flores added.
She also said they are talked with legal experts recently, so as to come up with legal action regarding the matter. (Sun.Star Pampanga)
