Kapampangan shines in AFP inter-camp games

ANGELES CITY -- Angeli Mark Barro, son of a Philippine Air Force employee, won the gold medal in the Taekwondo event in the recent Summer Inter Camp Games held at the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City over the weekend.
In an interview with Sun.Star Pampanga, Barro said he was very fortunate to represent Pampanga in said competition.

The sports event was intended for dependants of officers and enlisted personnel of the AFP.
Just recently, Barro also won the gold medal in the Taekwondo event at the Private Schools Athletics Association (Prisaa) National Collegiate Games 2011 held last April 9 -14, 2011 in Zamboanga City.
Barro, who is presently residing inside the Air Force City in Clark Freeport, is the second eldest child among the four children of TSgt Angelito B. Barro.
At present, he is a varsity player of Angeles University Foundation's Taekwondo Team, a 3rd Dan Black Belt of Philippine Taekwondo Association and World Taekwondo Federation and a member of the 1st Batch of the Regional Philippine Taekwondo Contingent of Region 3 Pampanga Chapter (Team Captain).
He earned his First Dan Junior Blackbelt when he was nine years old last October 27, 2001 and promoted to 2nd Blackbelt last October 24, 2004 and then to 3rd Dan Blackbelt October 27, 2009.
At present, Mark is preparing for his upcoming competitions, especially the National and Regional Taekwondo Championships.
