CLARK FREEPORT -- More than 20 local and international teams will compete in the upcoming second leg of PALS paintball competition slated on July 8 to 10 at the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) parade grounds here.
Noemi Garcia, CDC tourism promotions office manager, said at least eight teams from Asia, including top paintball shooters from the United States, Iran, and Iraq, will compete during the three-day competition organized by the United Paintballers of the Philippines.

The sports event, co-sponsored by CDC and Department of Tourism (DOT), is in consonance with CDC's thrust to promote sports tourism inside the Freeport.
CDC president Felipe Antonio B. Remollo announced that his administration is bent on pursuing a massive marketing program to promote Clark not only as an investment haven but also as a major tourist destination.
Remollo announced recently that the Clark Freeport will be hosting a Sports Tourism Forum on July 19 at the Holiday Inn Clark organized by Selrahco Management Consultancy Services.
Remollo said the Sports Tourism Forum uses a "scientific and methodological" approach to orient Clark stakeholders, including those in and around the Central Luzon Region, on how to capitalize on sports to boost the local tourism industry.
"There are many untapped assets for sports tourism inside the Clark Freeport," Remollo said.
"This upcoming forum is very suitable because it presents a scientific and methodological approach to boost the local tourism industry through the conduct of various sports activities," he added.
Aside from the paintball competition, Remollo said the CDC parade grounds has been the venue of a series of games hosted by the Baseball Philippine Series 8.
He said other sporting events like soccer, frisbee, rugby, and cricket, among others, would be held monthly inside the Freeport.
