According to Mamanwal, this is in line with the sports tourism program of Clark Development Corporation president Felipe Antonio Remollo.
“We would like to [advance] family wellness and physical fitness and at the same time promote the facilities of Fontana,” Mamanwal said.
He is hopeful that the sports festival will become bigger next year and will develop into an annual national sports event.
Alvin Wong, Fontana marketing manager, said they conceptualized the event considering that the leisure park has the facilities including an Olympic-size swimming pool.
Mamanwal said they have invited various secondary and elementary schools around the Freeport to participate in the volleyball, basketball, tennis, and cheerdance competitions.
Among the schools he mentioned are the Angeles University Foundation, Information and Communication Technology School, Saint Scholastica’s Academy, Holy Family Academy, Mabalacat College, School of the Infant Jesus among others.
