Lazatin inter-Toda basketball cup opens

ANGELES CITY - Councilor Bryan Nepomuceno, Carmelo Lazatin Jr., Atty. Nino Enriquez, and Max Sangil, members of Team Lazatin, the official slate of Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo "Tarzan" Lazatin, on February 9 opened the Inter-Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (Toda) Basketball Cup they sponsored in Barangay Santo Domingo here.
Six teams from various Todas in Barangay Santo Domingo will be participating in the basketball cup. The teams are Villa Leoncia Toda, L&S Toda, San Angelo Toda, Villa Angela Toda, Villa Dolores Toda, and SDAC Toda.
Lazatin gave P40,000 for the basketball tournament, which will be used for the prizes of the winning teams.
In addition to a trophy, the winning teams will also be awarded with a cash prize; the champion team will receive P5,000, the 1st runner up will receive P3,000, the 2nd runner up will receive P2,000, and the 3rd runner up will receive P1,000.
The two remaining teams who will not place in the tournament will also receive a consolation prize of P500 each.
Two games will be held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The tournament will have a total of 23 games in a single round-robin schedule and is expected to conclude by the second week of March.
Barangay Santo Domingo officials, Kagawad Alvin Manalastas, Kagawad Oliver Chaneco, Kagawad Jose Liscano, Jr., and Romanito Yusi, Jr. are in charge of overseeing the basketball cup. (PR)
