Kapampangan lass among winners in SEA figure skating challenge

LUBAO -- Kapampangan Hayden Isabel Dimson Balucating is among the winners under Team Philippines in the 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) International Figure Skating Challenge held recently at SM Seaside City skating rink.

Balucating won the juvenile girls class with 25.72 points besting her opponents on both the interpretative and free style program.

She earned a total of 25.7 points to claim the gold medal against her opponents from the Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

The eight-year old Balacuting is of mix Kapampangan heritage and is the granddaughter of current Second District Board Member Salvador Dimson. Balucating hails from Lubao town.

She regularly trains at SM Megamall under Russian coaches Alexey Fedorov and Maria Safanova, head coaches of the Philippine national figure skating team.

Balucating is set to leave for Moscow, Russia to train under coaches Sergei Dudakov and Daniil Gleykenghaus, coaches of the current World Figure Skating champion Alina Zagitova.
