Run for WW II Heroes set April 9-10

THE longest and oldest-running relay-run honoring our World War II Heroes will again traverse the infamous 1942 Death March Trail on April 9 and 10, 2012.

Known as the Araw ng Kagitingan Ultra-Marathon (A Tribute To World War II Veterans), the ultra-marathon was started by 29 running buffs of the San Fernando Runners Unlimited Inc. (SAFER RUN), almost two months after the historic People Power EDSA Revolution in 1986, that toppled the reign of a dictator --- the late Pres. Ferdinand Marcos.

Kabalen wins bronze medal in World Shoot 2011

STO. TOMAS -- A 17-year-old world-class practical shooter from this town, Diomari Ivan “Dio” Tayag, has brought honor and prestige to his kabalens after placing 3rd in the recently concluded 16th World Shoot held in Rhodes, Greece.

The young Tayag is a member of the Philippine Team who represented the country in the prestigious competition, considered as the Olympic Game in the sports of practical shooting.
