Student journalists get incentive for presscon fetes

ANGELES CITY — Student journalists who won in the National Press Conference held in Tagum City, Davao Del Norte from February 22 to 26 received a P15,000 cash incentive from Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno on Monday.

Nepomuceno told Sun.Star Pampanga that the incentive aims to recognize the honors brought home by Angeles City team in the recent press conference.

Members of the Angeles City Team (Secondary Level) include Daniel Dizon and Kamae Acejo (Brightwoods School), Hannah Angelica Bondoc (Angeles City National High School), Francesca Lat (Narciso School Inc.), Ariel Paolo Vinuya (Claro M. Recto Information Technology High School), Romelle Jane Velasco (Francisco Nepomuceno Memorial High School), Pio Carlo Laron (Angeles University Foundation, High School) and coach Analiza Nunag.

The group bagged the 2nd place and 3rd place awards in Technical Application and Radio Broadcast Category.

Daniela Pattine Dizon also won 1st place as Best News Presenter and also the 2nd placer in the News Scriptwriting Category.

Also, Ariel Paolo Vinuya won 2nd place in the News Anchor Category with Hannah Angelica Bondoc and Francesca Lat winning the 2nd in the Infomercial Category.

“These awards prove the wealth of talents we have in the city. We hope to encourage our student journalists to further do their best in the future competitions,” Nepomuceno said, stressing that the city government is always ready to assist student writers.

Also, Joseph Rassel Santiago of Holy Angel Uiversity Laboratory School won 1st place in the Sports Writing Category from the Elementary Level besting almost 70 school divisions from all across the country.
