LINGAYEN -- Fourteen descendants of World War II veterans will compete for the title Limgas na Kawayangan ed Pangasinan (Miss Pangasinan Liberation).
The pageant search is one of the activities in line with the 64th Anniversary of the Lingayen Gulf Landings this month.

Paterno Orduña, chairman of the 64th Anniversary of the Lingayen Gulf Landings, said the pre-screened candidates are from different cities and municipalities in the province.
The candidates are 16-year-old Geneva Soliven of Umingan town, 17-year-old Zandra Lacap of Rosales, 18-year-old Charisse Rosario of Urdaneta City, 20-year-old Lodovina de Leon of Bugallon, 15-year-old Marylou Cabalquinto of Bolinao, 18-year-old Ghada Bongcawil of Lingayen, and 16-year-old Valerie Vicente of Binmaley.
Also are 18-year-old Aiza Marie Maramba of San Carlos City, 18-year-old Nicoli Sison of Alaminos City, 18-year-old Virgie Viray of Lingayen, 17-year-old Venus Mosuela of Bautista, 17-year-old Braphine Sheen Palisoc of Urbiztondo, 18-year-old Ily Chua of Pozorrubio, and 17-year-old Eimee Flor Romero of Dagupan City.
On Monday, they will make a courtesy call to Governor Amado Espino Jr. The pageant night will be held on the evening at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) gym.
The coronation night is scheduled on January 9, Veterans Day Celebration, at the Capitol Plaza.
Chairman Orduña said a Youth Camp will be held on January 9 at the Lingayen beach front. The participants will have a fellowship with the governor and other local and police officials in Pangasinan.
There will be a clean-up drive on January 8. This will be participated by the youth, candidates, mayors, volunteers, and members of the Pangasinan police.
Meanwhile, the Veterans Day celebration will be held at the Veterans Park located at the back of the provincial Capitol building, overlooking the Lingayen Gulf. (LCMY/Sunnex)
