DAGUPAN CITY -- Police officers in the province who play basketball well will be facing a team of movie stars and Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) legends in an exhibition game.

Dubbed as Police Senior Superintendent Percival Barba 1st Provincial Director’s Basketball Exhibition Game, the event will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Divine World Academy of Dagupan (DWAD) gym.

Barba said proceeds will be used for the construction of a PNP Daycare Center inside the police provincial headquarters in Lingayen.

The selected Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) players are Police Superintendents Policarpio Cayabyab, Romeo Caramat, Rodelio Samson, and Frankie Candelario; Police Chief Inspectors Michael Grona, Bong De Asis, Fidel Juinio, Ariel Mercullo, and Benjamin Ariola: and Police Senior Inspectors Amor Somine, Stephen Budong, Romel Centeno, Rommel Bagsic and Fritz Tabula. Barba acts as the team manager.

The PBA legends are Benjie Paras, Alvin Patrimonio, Bong Alvarez, Nelson Asaytono, and Jerry Codinera together with Marlou Aquino who hails from Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan; actors Bearwin Meily, Jordan Herrera, Carlos Morales, and James Blanco.

Provincial Police Information Officer Harris Fama said tickets are available at the gym gate.

Accordingly, the PBA players and the movie stars will have a motorcade around Downtown Dagupan before proceeding to the DWAD gym located at Rizal Street Extension.

Fama said the PAMMA Blue Dragons versus University of Luzon Golden Tigers (both school basketball teams in Dagupan City) doing the opening game.
