THE City Government of San Carlos City will host the First Mayor Julier “Ayoy” Resuello Cup (Invitational Rapid Chess Championship-Non Master).
The competition will be held May 23 and 24 at the city gym.

The format of the chess championship, said Assistant City Information Officer Rey dela Cruz, is 7-Round Swiss at 45 Minutes/Plater to finish the game.
The champion in the 16-Under Category and 12-Under Category will each receive P3,000 and a trophy. Second and third place, respectively will receive P2,000 and P1,000 and a trophy. Fourth and fifth placers will receive P700 and P50, respectively.
Sixth to 10th placers, on the other hand, will each receive P200 while the 11 to 15th placer will receive P150 each.
Special awards will be given to the Top San Carlos City Player, Top Youngest Player (8-Under), Youngest Player from San Carlos City (8-Under) and Youngest Visitor Player.
The First Mayor Julier “Ayoy” Resuello Cup is sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines. The tournament manager is the National Association of Philippine Chess Arbiters.
