DAGUPAN CITY -- Fourth district Representative Jose de Venecia Jr. led recently the distribution of PhilHealth cards to indigent recipients from the 31 barangays here.
With him were his wife Gina, Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr., and wife Elmina who heads the Inner Wheel Club of Dagupan.

To date, the lawmaker has distributed about 3,000 government health insurance coverage to his constituents in the fourth district of Pangasinan.
De Venecia said he is giving much attention to extending PhilHealth cards to as many of his constituents as possible as this will enable them to get better health care service from PhilHealth-accredited hospitals.
The barangay captains here thanked de Venecia for the health insurance cards he distributed to their barangay mates.
There are many families who no longer seek medical attention since they cannot afford to pay for their medical needs.
Meanwhile, treatment of the influenza A (H1N1) is now covered by the PhilHealth insurance.
PhilHealth president and chief executive officer Rey Aquino sighed on June 4, 2009 PhilHealth Circular No. 25, s-2009.
The circular was addressed to all accredited health care providers, members of PhilHealth, PhilHealth personnel, and all others concerned.
Among others, it states that the benefit is limited to PhilHealth members and dependents with novel swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus infection confirmed by the Department of Health; hospitalization benefit for PhilHealth members and dependents is set at a maximum of P75,000; the benefit is set at a maximum of P150,000 for qualified health workers who a) rendered service in a DOH (Department of Health)-designated hospital for influenza A (H1N1) and b) contracted the disease while performing their duties and or caring for an influenza A (H1N1) patients certified or attested by the DOH.
