LINGAYEN -- A lawyer on board a tricycle on his way to Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) at Justice Hall in Barangay Pagal, San Carlos City was shot to death by still unidentified gunmen Friday.
Police Provincial Director Percival Barba said the investigators are yet to establish possible motive in the broad daylight assassination.

The official has ordered the investigation and follow-up operation for the arrest of the suspects.
San Carlos City Police Chief Noel Vallo identified the victim as Dante Untalan, 59. He was a public attorney lawyer residing at Barangay Malibong, Urbiztundo, Pangasinan.
The shooting incident happened around 11 a.m. Initial investigation disclosed that the suspects tailed the passenger tricycle that Untalan was riding.
While along the road at Barangay Cacaritan, the unidentified helmet-wearing suspects, riding in tandem in motorcycle, shot the victim several times. The assailants then speed off towards north.
Concern citizens rushed Untalan to the Virgen Milagrosa Hospital in San Carlos. However, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The responding policemen recovered empty shells of a caliber .45 gun at the crime scene. (LCMY/Sunnex)
