The processing plant is inside the BFAR-National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center in Bonuan Binloc.
BFAR regional director Nestor Domenden said Agriculture Secretary Proseso Alcala directed the bureau Director Asis Perez to form a committee that will craft the guidelines on the management of the facility.
The bureau aims to lease the facility to a private investor through a public-private agreement.
Domenden said a memorandum of agreement will be prepared and signed by the government units concern, after which, the bidding will start.
“With the operation of the fish processing plant, we can now brand our own bangus products and certify it as Dagupan bangus…,” Mayor Benjamim Lim said.
He said fish growers can store their bangus harvest at the fish processing center; or have it processed for local or even foreign market.
