Miss Dagupan 2011 to be crowned Monday

THE coronation of the Miss Dagupan 2011 and the Pawil Dagupan will highlight Monday's culmination of Dagupan City's fiesta celebration.
Eighteen-year-old Denielle Joie Magno, a third year Masscom student at Colegio de Dagupan, bested 11 other candidates during the Miss Dagupan 2011 Pageant Night last December 18.

She earned the nod of the panel of judges composed of Miss Baguio 2011 Shaunna Curran, Binibining Pilipinas 2009 second runner-up Abby Cruz, Ms. Earth 2007 Jane Harn, Pangasinan Provincial Tourism officer Maria Lousia Elduayan and GMA TV-10 Dagupan station manager Jonathan Balingit.
Aside from the crown, Magno also won the Miss Photogenic, Best in Swimsuit and Darling of the Press awards. She also brought home a number of special awards from the pageant sponsors.
Magno, who also joined the same search in 2009, plans to join a national beauty contest after she finishes college.
The first and second runner up trophies in this year's pageant went to Rosalyn Suratos and Charlotte Visperas, respectively. Third and fourth placers, meanwhile, went to Marian Vivian Clata and Clarisse Isanan.
Mayor Benjamin Lim, Fiesta Hermano Mayor Guillermo Vallejos and pageant chairman City Councilor Red Erfe Mejia will lead the crowning ceremony.
The city's fiesta celebration officially started last December 16 with the opening ceremonies highlighted by the lighting of the giant Christmas tree in front of the city museum.
Lim said Dagupan's fiesta is practically the longest celebration in Dagupan as it officially ends on midnight of December 31. It encompass the Christmas celebration, Rizal Day and New Year. (Sunnex)
