DAGUPAN CITY -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has set a nine-hour power outage in 12 towns in Pangasinan, including the cities of Alaminos and Dagupan, on Tuesday, March 25, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The scheduled power interruption will affect the towns of Labrador, Sual, Mabini, Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, Agno, Bani, Anda, Bolinao, Calasiao, Sta. Barbara, and the cities of Dagupan and Alaminos.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP’s corporate communication and public affairs officer for North Luzon, said parts of Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) and Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative (Panelco III) will hold an annual preventive maintenance and testing of 100-megavolt ampere power transformer at Labrador Substation.
Regular line maintenance along Labrador-Bani-Bolinao 69 kilo volts line will also be conducted simultaneous with Cenpelco and Panelco III’s maintenance and testing of their instrument transformers, she added.
Gaydowen said Cenpelco and Panelco III identified the cities and municipalities that will be affected by the power interruption based on the distribution utility’s maintenance needs.
“The utility allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users,” she said.
Gaydowen said normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.
The NGCP advised its customers and the general public affected by the interruption to take the necessary preparations and precautions. (PIA)
