Wednesday, March 08, 2017

SAN CARLOS CITY -- The police in Pangasinan launched a province-wide manhunt against two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen who shot a school principal around 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, along the highway in Sitio Silapan, Barangay Bolingit, San Carlos City.

The victim was identified as Maximo Jimenez, 64, principal of the San Vicente Elementary School in Bayambang, and a resident of Bongato East in Bayambang, Pangasinan.

Investigation showed Jimenez, on board his own motorcycle, was on his way to Lingayen to submit reports to the Department of Education division office when he was shot several times for a still unknown reason by unidentified suspects using a handgun.

The suspects, then, fled to an unknown direction after the incident.

Responding policemen rushed Jimenez to the adjacent Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in Bolingit, San Carlos City but he failed to reach the hospital alive. He sustained gunshot wounds in the back and upper arms.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives from the crime scene recovered three fired shells of caliber 45 pistol bullets.

The dead body of the victim is currently at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital morgue. (PNA)
