DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan -- The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) and the City Government have again partnered in an emergency employment program that will give jobs to 75 working-age male indigents for 20 days.
To qualify, the temporary employees should be residents of the city's coastal barangays, especially those hardest-hit by the onslaught of recent typhoons and by what the locals call gawat (hard times.)

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- The province of Pangasinan will host the Palarong Pambansa 2012, the Philippines' biggest annual scholastic athletic competition participated in by elementary and high school students from public and private schools.
Pangasinan bested three other provinces, including Laguna, Occidental Mindoro, and Marikina City after a final presentation was held on Thursday before the Palarong Pambansa 2012 technical committee at the Department of Education (DepEd) central office.

Bayambang police chief Lloyd Millan Sr., 39, and wife, Cherryl, died instantly after being shot by Millan's older brother, Lyndon, near a fishpond in the village of Bued.
