SAN CARLOS CITY -- After his conviction in 1985, 61-year-old Domingo Ferrer, a kagawad at Barangay Matagdem, this city, finally saw his arrest warrant when this was served to him by the police last November 6.
San Carlos Police Chief Noel Vallo said Ferrer was arrested about 11 p.m. at the barangay hall.

“He was convicted for murder in 1979. He appealed his case, he was granted bail. The Court of Appeals lowered his case to homicide, he was convicted in 1985,” he stated.
Vallo said it could be that the suspect never showed up at the court after the appeal.
Accordingly, Ferrer was brought to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for safekeeping and will be turned over to the court where the warrant of arrest originated. But as he was convicted for a crime, Ferrer will be brought eventually to the National Bilibid Prison.
Meanwhile, the San Carlos Police Station also recorded several arrests of wanted persons recently.
About 2:45 p.m. last Wednesday, they arrested Jonathan Tan Seng by virtue of warrant of arrest.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Hermogenes Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 57 here for the crime of violation of Republic Act 9262 (Anti-violence against women and their children) with P24,000 bailbond recommended.
On the other hand, Geny Lito Arenas, 22, of Tayug town, was arrested on November 6 by joint elements of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, the 3rd Company of the Regional Mobile Group 1 and the 107th Provincial Mobile Group.
Arenas was arrested by virtue of the Alias Warrant issued by Judge Ulysses Butuyan of RTC Branch 51 in Tayug. The warrant was dated November 15, 2006 for the crime of frustrated homicide. (LCMY/Sunnex)
