I THINK the last procession I attended was five years ago.
Attending procession is a therapy to me – my attending the procession at Kannapolis, NC, on February 22 was food to my spiritual longing.
Over a hundred devotees of Mama Mary attended the procession, which was done after the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament inside the Performing Arts center where the Spanish track of the Marian Congress was held.
I was into my spiritual world with the devotees praying the rosary and singing adoration songs to our Lady.
The lady was dressed in white with white thick sequence carried by four men.
I walked fast the group hoping to get a good picture (by the way I was able to touch the dress of the Lady) when I saw the woman wearing a “terno,” which I am sure is a Filipino costume.
I smiled, she smiled and we started talking – she gave her name Aida Gamalo and I was surprised because that was the name I was supposed to interview.
What a blessing, faith really works in many ways.
I missed the retreat and seminar English track because I have no ride.
Sherrlyn Tamayo-Siplon and I could not meet the time.
But anyway–talking to Aida as if I was talking to a nun – she is not she just on this Marian Evangelization.
She said this is what is needed these days.
She introduced the Lady carried by four men as her companion and they traveled together during the holding of Marian congress.
It struck me when she said that there are miracles, but she wants to focus on the vision of Mama Mary.
“She wants us united,” Gamalo said.
She wants us to pray to her son Jesus.
It was interesting talk because she told me that our Muslim brothers believed in Mama Mary – their version of Mary is named Miriam.
“With all these problems we encountered now – we have our Lady the common grounds among the believers of the mother of Jesus” she added.
It was a short walk though because we just cover the block of the Performing Arts Center, but a long talk to faith and beliefs.
