Bobby G. Nalzaro has gained the distinction of being one of the most hard-hitting radio personalities in Cebu. In his 28 years of public service as a media worker, his stinging commentaries endear him to his audience, most of them voiceless in the face of abuses by government officials.

In the 2004 national search, Bobby received the most coveted "KBP Golden Dove Award for Best Public Affairs Program Host for Radio," beating Korina Sanchez of ABS-CBN in a one-on-one nomination.

He was among the first batch of Garbo Sa Sugbo Awardees honored by the Cebu Provincial Government. He was also a recipient of the Achiever’s Award in Mass Media, given by the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Government, his home province.

When he was still with Bombo Radyo Cebu, he was chosen as the best anchorman of the year during the network’s Top Level Management Conference in 1995. One of the few tri-media personalities in Cebu, he is a commentator of dySS "Super Radyo," newscaster of GMA 7 Cebu “Balitang Bisdak,” and columnist of Sun.Star Cebu and Sun.Star Superbalita.

He is the most sought after local product endorser on radio and voice-over talent, according to various advertising companies. He served in various positions in the local chapter of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, including local chapter chairman and regional chairman. He was chosen as one of the 23 influential persons in Cebu during Sun.Star’s 23rd anniversary.

Bobby was mauled by the son of a businessman in Mandaue after he exposed the exorbitant fees collected by the said businessman who operated a barge following the closure of the first Mactan-Mandaue bridge after Typhoon Ruping in 1990. His case was one of the reasons why Cebu Press Freedom Week was organized.

IN her Facebook account, opposition Councilor Jocelyn “Joy” Pesquera claimed that the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) tried a “political maneuver” by nominating a stalwart to replace resigned councilor Hanz Abella, who was appointed commissioner of the 7th division of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC).

Friday, September 15, 2017

I GOT three of a number of copies of similar resolutions passed in the Sept. 11 session of the Cebu Provincial Board (PB) authorizing Gov. Hilario Davide III to enter into and sign a contract with the winning bidder for the supply of labor, materials and incidentals for the proposed concreting/improvement of several infrastructure projects without a proper bidding.

Nalzaro: Why push for the landfill’s rehabilitation?

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

I DON’T see the reason why the “former political has-been” is persistent in rehabilitating the Inayawan Sanitary Landfill when it already reached its lifespan.

Nalzaro: No consultants for the opposition

Friday, September 08, 2017

OPPOSITION members of the Cebu City Council should stop demanding from the “former political has-been” the hiring of their consultants. They are just wasting their time and effort. We already know his attitude. The more he is pressured, the more he will deny a request. He wants people to kneel before him. Also, it’s as if he owns City Hall.

Nalzaro: Coping Fernandez as Abella replacement

Tuesday, September 05, 2017

A CEBU City Treasurer’s Office insider told me that the management of Rico’s Lechon has already complied with all the requirements to get a business permit and has paid the taxes. In fact, it has been issued a tax certificate that shows it has no more tax liabilities to the city government. In view or this development, let us see if the “former political has-been,” who is the final approving authority, approves Rico’s Lechon’s business permit application.
