Bobby G. Nalzaro
Bobby G. Nalzaro has gained the distinction of being one of the most hard-hitting radio personalities in Cebu. In his 28 years of public service as a media worker, his stinging commentaries endear him to his audience, most of them voiceless in the face of abuses by government officials.
In the 2004 national search, Bobby received the most coveted "KBP Golden Dove Award for Best Public Affairs Program Host for Radio," beating Korina Sanchez of ABS-CBN in a one-on-one nomination.
He was among the first batch of Garbo Sa Sugbo Awardees honored by the Cebu Provincial Government. He was also a recipient of the Achiever’s Award in Mass Media, given by the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Government, his home province.
When he was still with Bombo Radyo Cebu, he was chosen as the best anchorman of the year during the network’s Top Level Management Conference in 1995. One of the few tri-media personalities in Cebu, he is a commentator of dySS "Super Radyo," newscaster of GMA 7 Cebu “Balitang Bisdak,” and columnist of Sun.Star Cebu and Sun.Star Superbalita.
He is the most sought after local product endorser on radio and voice-over talent, according to various advertising companies. He served in various positions in the local chapter of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, including local chapter chairman and regional chairman. He was chosen as one of the 23 influential persons in Cebu during Sun.Star’s 23rd anniversary.
Bobby was mauled by the son of a businessman in Mandaue after he exposed the exorbitant fees collected by the said businessman who operated a barge following the closure of the first Mactan-Mandaue bridge after Typhoon Ruping in 1990. His case was one of the reasons why Cebu Press Freedom Week was organized.

Political dynamics
DEFEATED mayoralty candidate Tomas Osmeña just cannot accept his defeat in the hands of his former political protégé, Michael Rama. So too his running mate, Vice Mayor Agustus Joy Young, cannot accept his defeat to Edgardo Labella. Labella won by a margin of almost 200 votes.
Fixing what’s not broken
I WAS in Mactan Island the entire day yesterday for the company outing of Radyo GMA (GMA) employees at Agus Hotel in Barangay Agus. It was an annual activity where company officers and employees together with their families relax and enjoy. The event was also very timely because everybody was so tired during our election coverage last week. Imagine, we went on the air for 48 hours for our continuous coverage. It was, indeed, a great bonding yesterday.
As I drove going here before noon, I encountered traffic problem near Gaisano Capital.
Sa iningles pa ‘not in my dreams and imagination’ nga mapilde si Gullas.
Blaming the PCOS machines
BEFORE losing candidates, especially the “giants,” blame the precinct count optical scan (Pcos) machines for their debacle in last Monday’s elections, I would suggest that they go back to their “war rooms” and assess their campaign strategy and performance.
Giant-slayers
WHO says that Tomas Osmeña is unbeatable? He lost to his political protege turned archrival, reelectionist Mayor Michael Rama, by some 10,000 votes in last Monday's elections. This is Osmeña's first political setback since he joined politics upon his return here from the US in 1988. This shows that he is mortal and can be defeated.
Go out and vote
AN ESTIMATED 52 million registered voters will troop to various polling precincts in the country to participate in today’s midterm elections. They will pick 12 senators, one party-list, a member of the House of Representative, a governor, a vice govenor and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (depending on the number of the district’s representatives), city/municipal mayor, vice mayor and members of the city and municipal councils (again, depending on the number of seats available).
