'Texting' seen as next
major advertising medium

BAGUIO -- Short messaging system
(SMS), popularly known as "texting", has become
a major tool in advertising because of its potential to reach
a target audience.
Ramon Lizardo, official of a
news website company, cited joint campaigns of companies like
Nestle with Odyssey Records and Haagen Dazs with Tower Records
as examples of texting as an advertising medium. In their
campaigns, text messages sent by subscribers entitled them
to certain giveaways or promos.
