4:40 p.m. — Maitum municipal councilor Edwin Ramos was shot dead in Barangay Maguling around seven in the morning Sunday.

4:28 p.m. — 1 killed, 17 hurt when suspected members of the New People’s Army ambushed the 54th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army based in Abra.

4:17 p.m. — Estimated turnout at the Cordillera Administrative Region: 75 to 80 percent. Comelec receives report of ballot box switching in Abra and failure of elections in the area is requested.

4:15 p.m. — Comelec reported that estimated turnout at the National Capital Region is at 70 to 75 percent; all precincts functioned and no reported incidences of poll violence.

3:34 p.m. — Election officials projected turnout at a whopping 75 percent of the 45 million registered voters as people took advantage of the day off, sunny skies and tight security.

3:30 p.m. — A video footage of GMA- 7 shows the start of counting of votes of a poll precinct in Isabela .

3 p.m.– Board of Election Inspectors signal the closing of poll precincts and prepare for the start of the counting of votes.

3 p.m. — Elections in Baguio City was generally peaceful except reports of vote-buying by a political party allegedly distributing insurance cards.

2:50 p.m. — A passerby was wounded when a bomb made from a mortar shell exploded in Sultan Kudarat province, said regional police chief Joel Goltiao.

2:48 p.m. — Bomb scare disrupts conduct of elections in Fort Bonifacio High School in Makati City.

12:30 p.m. — In another Basilan town, one voter was killed and another wounded, and unidentified men set fire to a school building where voting was scheduled, police and military officials said.

12:24 p.m.– Gunmen opened fire on a group of voters led by a mayoral candidate in Basilan inside a school voting precinct, killing one and wounding three others.

12: 20 p.m.– A village chief in Bucay town in northern Abra province was fatally shot Monday in a scuffle when he questioned the presence of unidentified armed men.

12 p.m. - Mayor Jejomar Binay accosts a poll watcher wearing a blue KAMPI t-shirt inside a polling precinct at the San Antonio High School in Makati.

11:45 a.m. — Independent candidate for senator Gringo Honasan and wife vote in Marikina.

11:40 a.m. — Former Senate President Franklin Drilon casts his vote in Baluarte Elementary School in Iloilo.

11:35 a.m. - Vice President Noli de Castro casts his vote at Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

10:45 a.m.- Comelec postpones election in Pantar, Lanao del Norte.

9:13 a.m. - Elections in Cosili, Bangued in Abra province was delayed because of reports that private armed groups terrorize residents who to vote for.

9:10 a.m.- Former president Fidel Ramos and her sister former senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani patiently queued for their turn to vote in Pangasinan.

8:30 a.m. — Senator Panfilo Lacson and Congressman Gilbert Remulla join voters in casting their votes early.

8:10 a.m.- Controversial candidate for congressman in Bukidnon, Virgilio Garcilliano votes early and vows to guard his votes for fear of being cheated.

8 a.m. – President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo arrives at the Lubao Elementary School in Lubao, Pampanga to vote.

7:47 a.m. — Abra Provincial Board Member Eduardo Gonzales, a close ally of reelectionist Mayor Rex Bernardez, was shot to death by a certain Jojo Sales. Sales is now under police custody.

7:25 a.m. - Some misprinted ballots have surfaced in some provinces, mostly
involving more lines for Council positions than are needed, or less. This is
according to Comelec spokesman James Jimenez.

7:10 a.m.- Two improvised bombs explode at a residential house in Shariff Kabunsuan and the Dalican Pilot School.

7 a.m. – Polling precincts nationwide open for Monday’s midterm elections.
