Grand program to cap Panagbenga

THE ninth Baguio Flower Festival closes Sunday with a grand program capping the month-long staging of colorful floral events set at 8:30 a.m. at the Baguio Athletic Bowl.

Mayor Bernardo Vergara said the program, which will feature colorful floral field demonstrations and concerts, will serve as tribute to the successful conduct of the Panagbenga. full story

Predator mites still a threat to cutflowers in La Trinidad

BEHIND the success of the annual Panagbenga Flower Festival are the unsung cutflower growers of La Trinidad, Benguet, which is why the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) recently revealed they are closely coordinating with cutflower growers to thwart possible attack of predator mites in plantations there. full story
