Final Panagbenga activities

AFTER the colorful, lively Mardigras-type of parade with crowds milling about along the main thoroughfares last weekend, activities for the next two weeks heats up in different venues.

Immediately after the parades, Session Road, the city’s main road, was closed to vehicular traffic until March 5, from 6AM to 12MN, for ‘Pan-aaspulan (Session Road in Bloom),’ an Ibaloi word for meeting place, with stalls and diverse wares for spectators and customers’ scrutiny.

The remaining events for the festival are: Country Garden Fair, Market Expo at the Melvin Jones, 7AM to 12MN, on-going until Mar 20; Fun at Fairyland, Children’s Playground, 8AM to 5PM, on-going until Mar. 20; and the ‘Gabi ng Pasasalamat’ with fireworks display at the Athletic Bowl, 6 PM, on March 12.

Other scheduled events are: Science Centrum Fair at the Baguio Convention Center, 8AM, which started Jan. 18 up to Mar. 3; Local Arts Show at the People’s Park 8AM to 10 PM, Feb. 27 to March 5; Veteran Records Skateboard Competition at the Skating Rink, 7AM to 12 MN, on March 4; Dolls of Japan Exhibit and Eiga Sai at the Baguio Convention Center Lobby, Mar. 3-12; and, Kitefest at the Athletic Bowl 8 AM to 5PM on March 12.
