Sinulog Experiences
The Sinulog is one of the most colorful festivals in Asia today. It is celebrated for nine days with two major activities as highlights--a religious procession on Saturday and grand street parade the next day. It got its name from a ritual dance in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Niño.
When you celebrate this feast of feasts in Cebu City, share your stories and pictures with us. Diri sa Atlanta, Georgia daghan pud ang ga-celebrate. Pero dili siguro hitup-ngan ang celebration nga gibuhat sa mga Cebuano diri sa Augusta Georgia. Kini gipangunahan sa grupo nga gitawag ug \"BUOTAN\" - Bisaya United Organization ThroughOut Augusta Network.
Our celebration started around 5:00PM, Jan 19th Saturday which is Sunday AM Jan 20th in Cebu and is almost synchronized with the Sinulog finale.
A holy mass was celebrated by our very own cebuano priest, Rev. Father Chito Palang, then the sinulog dancing, folk dancing, singing and the lots of food that were served afterwards. Its just amazing how the BUOTAN were able to pull this through, year after year for seven years and counting.
Then we have the sleep over/slumber party hosted by Drs. Halbert and Livia Capuy, one of the founding fathers of the BOUTAN. Our celebration lasted until the following day and all us doesn\'t want it to end but of course, we are not in Cebu anymore, this is USA, we have to go to work monday. Everybody was so thankfull for the gathering and most of all to our STO NINO for the fellowship, food and fun that lasted for about two days.
