THE IBP Cebu and Cebu City chapters condemn in the most indignant manner the brutal killing of Arbet Sta. Ana-Yongco, a dedicated trial lawyer. Atty. Yongco was a legal advocate whose passion for justice was matched by her dedication to serve the cause of her poor and less privileged clients.

The IBP Cebu and Cebu City chapters perceive the dastardly act of killing Atty. Yongco as an assault on the legal profession calculated to intimidate legal advocates in their pursuit for justice.

We must not be held hostage to this kind of terror.

We, therefore, urge the national and local governments to exert all serious efforts for the early solution of this heinous crime and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
