Sunnex turns six
Six years ago today, the Sun.Star Network Exchange (Sunnex) was created to handle the exchange of information among the Sun.Star network of publications.
Barely a year after, it took on the bigger role of supervising the operations of the Sun.Star website (www.sunstar.com.ph), Internet home of the Sun.Star network of local newspapers, when it was uploaded on May 10, 2000.
Today, Sunnex coordinates the exchange, manages the website and handles other new media services like online news subscription, e-mail newsletter as well as the short message system (SMS) offering.
One of the many roles of Sunnex, a department under Sun.Star Publishing Inc., is the promotion to the public of a Sun.Star network identity.
From a staff of two when it first started on April 5, 1999, Sunnex now has 11 full-time employees. MDL
