PH Olympic body to form train pool

ASIDE from the Special Elite Athletes, the Philippine Olympic Committee will now establish a permanent National Youth Training Pool, who will represent the country in the 2014 Olympic Youth Games and 2013 Asian Youth Games.

POC president Jose Cojuangco said the formation of the youth training team is in line with the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) directive to participate in the competition for athletes ages 14 to 18.

AFTER many years of interval, Negros Occidental and Bacolod City are now ready to host the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) on December 18-22, 2010 at Panaad Sports and Recreational Park in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Several times, the city has failed to bid in hosting the WVPRISAA and national PRISAA due to unavailability of the track oval at the Panaad Stadium but with the timely renovation of the tracks the hosting is realized.

The 31-year-old Pajuay, who is from Jerome, Agdao, shattered a 6-6 deadlock in the race-to-9 championship match by winning the next three racks to put away the match before highly-appreciative spectators who cheered every excellent shot and pocketing throughout.

The victory was worth P50,000 for Pajuay, who erased the stigma of losing the crown in the tournament's first staging in 2008 with a superb performance this time around. He skipped last year's second edition of the event to play in a series of tournaments in Japan.
