RPM-P chairman to gov't: Hasten signing of appointments By Avelyn Z. Agudon
THE chairman of the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa-Pilipinas (RPM-P) urged the National Government to hasten the signing of the appointments of two government representatives to the Joint Enforcement Monitoring Committee.
Arturo Tabara, chairman of the RPM-P, told Sun.Star Bacolod President Arroyo has yet to sign the appointment of government representatives, Sec. Teresita Quintos-Deles, chairperson of the National Anti - Poverty Commission, and Ret. Gen. Victor Mayo of the Office of the Presidential Affairs on the Peace Process.
The president approved the JEMC's creation last month.
The JEMC is tasked to oversee the implementation of the peace agreement between the National Government and the RPM-P and its armed wing, the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade.
The committee will be composed of two representatives from the government, two from the RPM-P/RPA-ABB and one from the non-government organizations.
Representing the RPM-P/RPA-ABB are Veronica Tabara, RPM-P member, and Stephen Paduano (Carapali Lualhati), RPA-ABB national commander.
The signing of the "harmonized" rules and regulation for the JEMC's organization will follow after Arroyo signs the appointments of Deles and Mayo. |
