Valdez to reevaluate permits to 2 nightspots By Christine Mae Pelayo
MAYOR Luzviminda Valdez has ordered the revalidation of the business permits of the two nightspots reportedly operating without business permits and creating nuisance in Rosario-Libertad Streets.
The environment and natural resources division will investigate the matter, she said.
Valdez said she received a complaint from Delia Jayme, who lives beside the P and R Sing-Along and Boding's Sing-Along, three months ago about the alleged questionable operations.
But she did not act on the complaint, she said, as the establishments passed the zoning requirement as commercial entities.
The environment division, she added, also regulated the noise pollution.
Probably, these establishments are really creating nuisance that complaints were again filed, she said.
With Jayme's complaint, the City Council asked the mayor to provide them with the rules and regulation for the operations of nightspots near the residential areas.
A city ordinance provides that establishments located within 50 lineal meters from a school, hospital or church should be reconstructed or remodeled to avoid disturbance. |
