7 persons nabbed for illegal gambling By Robert L. Bacasong
SEVEN persons were arrested by the joint operatives of Police Station 1 and Crime Stoppers for engaging in the illegal gambling cara y cruz Tuesday afternoon in Luzuriaga St., Bacolod City.
Apprehended were Ricky Cornelio, 34, of Luzuriaga St., Barangay 29; Ronnie Colingo, 40, of Silay City; Edgel Retiban, 23, of Purok Kametal, Barangay Bata; Rey Rio, 20, of Barangay Tres Fuentes, Silay City;
Ronnie Cortez, 23, of North Terminal, Capitol-Shopping; Jimmy Laorinte, 27, of Hervias II, Barangay Villamonte; and Albert Bombate, 28, of Cadena de Amor, Luzuriaga St., Barangay 29.
Police confiscated P241 cash in bet money from the suspects who are presently detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 1.
In another report, a 48-year-old resident of Roxas-Araneta streets, complained to Police Station 1 that his four fighting cocks were stolen by unidentified suspects Tuesday morning.
The complainant, however, refused to disclose his identity.
He claimed that the total value of his missing cocks reached P7,000.
Casiano Ibrado, 49, of #90, corner San-Sebastian Adelfa streets, claimed his truck was opened by unidentified suspects about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Ibrado alleged some of the missing parts from his vehicle were two Motolite batteries, 10-ton hydraulic jack, mechanical tools, and tire range with handle.
The missing items cost P8,000, he claimed. RLB
