Bajelot installs probers in far-flung cop stations By Robert L. Bacasong
FOR quick response time during crime incidents due to their distance from the Bacolod City Police Office headquarters, three police stations will have two permanent investigators each.
Senior Supt. George Bajelot, city police director, said the probers from the Centralized Investigation Unit will be detailed to police stations 5 (Granada), 9 (Sum-ag), and 10 (Handumanan) considering these stations’ distance from BCPO headquarters.
Bajelot told Sun.Star it is necessary for these stations to have permanent probers as everytime offenses are committed in these areas, CIU investigators based in BCPO could not respond immediately.
Other concerns
Bajelot also disclosed the city police’ other concerns which include: the lack of service vehicles, computers and telephone line, particularly at the CIU office.
He said BCPO only has five service vehicles, one is not even functional.
CIU investigators, however, should have one service vehicle, added Bajelot.
Moreover, the city director said if the 2003 budget will be passed, the police’ service vehicles will be repaired.
Bajelot also assured the Bacolodnons that the peace and order situation will be one of the major concerns of the close to 300 city policemen. RLB
