WNCSF 7-a-side Football Tournament unwraps Saturday

THE maiden staging of the West Negros College Sports Foundation Inc. 7-a-side Football Tournament kicks off 8 a.m. Saturday at the WNC pitch.

Anthony Carlo Agustin, WNCSF chair, disclosed there will be a final meeting of tournament representatives at 5 p.m. today at the newly transferred WNC sports office.

Agustin, who also heads the committee on sports and development office, likewise bared that the final list-up of teams will be known after today’s meeting.

Already entered in the one-day football fest are Old Spice headed by William Claor; four Med Rep squads bannered by Al Victor Espino; the Administered Training Leading to the Empowerment of Talisay Athletes (ATLETA) team chaired by Rony de las Alas; Patrick Lacson’s Sta. Clara Group; and two teams from the host, mentored by erstwhile RP mainstay Norman “Nonoy” Fegidero Jr., who also serves as tournament commissioner.

Aside from the 7-a-side, WNC will also stage its regular WNCSF basketball tourney, currently on its fifth episode. Topping the fourth episode held in mid-July last year were Janaqua and Bar-21./GCT
