WINNERS in the election of members of the for board of directors in three districts of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) have been named.

The elections were held in District II, covering the Bacolod-South area, District III - Bacolod-Central, and District VII, covering the entire Murcia town.

In District II, Reynaldo Novero, Sr. won over Alex Paglomutan with a total of 2,262 votes as against the latter’s 1,330.

CENECO’s election secretariat said the 3,595 of the district’s 20,402 registered voters who cast their votes represented only 17.62 percent of the total consumer-voters.

Also named board of director was Eddie Guillem who garnered 952 votes to defeat his opponent, Ellery Cadeliña (708), in District III.

The election turn-out in the district was 29.76 percent as there were 1,660 out of 5,578 registered voters who joined the elections.

On the other hand, with a total vote of only 14, unopposed candidate Jose Lina Santiago in District VII-Murcia took the post.

Lawyer Pompeyo Querubin was the District Election Committee chairman.

Novero assured the consumer-members of his sincerity, honesty and transparency in service as the District II board of director.

“Let us put the issues behind us. This is another milestone in my life to serve the people efficiently and honestly with dedication to my duty,” said Novero.

He, however, refused to comment on his contender, Paglomutan.
