Natural fertilizer relaunched in Bacolod
By Clara Mae Hortelano

NITROFERT/BIOTRISSOL, a German-made liquid fertilizer based on fermented plant extract, was relaunched Tuesday at Rafaello's Restaurant, Bacolod City.

The relaunching and seminar was attended by farm managers, planters and agriculturists from all over the province.

Vicente Cainap, Nitrofert/Biotrissol's Iloilo-based technician and agriculturist, said the fertilizer contains all necessary nutrients, minerals and elements needed for the healthy balance of soil moisture and nutrients retention resulting to faster growth hormones production of agricultural products.

Cainap added the liquid formulation enhances plant growth, encourages natural bacteria activity in soil and provides essential NPK nutrients.

"Nitrofert/Biotrissol has double efficiency with foliar and soil applied and has balanced fertilizer combination. It is safe and scientifically tested liquid organic based fertilizer," he added.

Cainap further said the fertilizer was first launched in Iloilo. It is made from good old organic blood and bone that is now widely used abroad, he said.

Moreover, Cainap said the fertilizer is good for agricultural products such as talong, siling labuyo, rice and even for cut-flowers, among others.

Cainap, on the other hand, said Nitrofert is still under observation and used in experiment as sugarcane fertilizer at the Sugar Regulatory Administration-La Granja Research Center, La Carlota City.

"We are still waiting for the result of the research conducted by SRA-La Granja," he said.

However, he added some of the sugarcane planters, agriculturists and farm managers in the province are already using the products as fertilizer and they (farmers) got positive result.

Janie Caņal, Nitrofert/Biotrissol marketing director, said the product, an Australian made natural organic liquid based fertilizer was already launched two years ago but did not have marketing impact then.
