Bishop urges youth: Strengthen faith in Christ

BISHOP Vicente Navarra urged the youth to strengthen their faith in the Christ Jesus and live His examples in their everyday lives.

Navarra spearheaded Sunday's Christ the King Feast participated in by thousands of youth from various parishes in Negros Occidental and students, among others, at the public plaza.

The Bishop said good leadership should prevail in the church and society for them to have a stronger relationship with Christ.

Navarra cited that justice should be given importance as nowadays, deceit is mostly practiced by people.

Analeida Carmona, Diocesan Commission on Youth staff, said the gathering was aimed at making Negrosanons and the faithful of the Diocese of Bacolod aware of the forthcoming National Youth Day celebration.

She disclosed that Bacolod will host the National Youth Day on November 25 to 28. Carmona lauded the support of the religious sectors in Sunday's gatherings.

She also urged the youth to be active in the religious gatherings and value the teachings of Christ.

The festivities which also saw the participation of Msgr. Victorino Rivas, and Fr. Arnold Deletina, gathered students from St. John's Institute, Bacolod North Vicariate, St. Joseph High School, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, Bacolod South Vicariate, St. Rose of Lima, Bacolod East Vicariate, University of St. La Salle, La Consolacion College-Bacolod, Riverside Medical College, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation, Central Vicariate, Negros Occidental High School, Bacolod City National High School and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos. Fr. Raymon Asoy delivered the closing speech.
