* Ponteras ordered Trio to submit a special report on the result of the probe conducted to erase any cloud of doubts in both parties involved

SENIOR Supt. Vicente Ponteras, provincial police director, has ordered operatives of the Cauayan police station to conduct further investigation on the denial of members of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbo ng Bayan (RHB) regarding the beheading of a farmer in Barangay Guiljungan.

Ponteras directed Senior Insp. Jomil Trio, town police chief, to gather witnesses to testify to the alleged killings executed by the RHB guerillas.

He also ordered Trio to submit a special report on the result of the probe to erase doubts.

In a press statement earlier issued by RHB spokesperson, Tano Kahilwayan, the rebel group's spokesman, denied their involvement to the death of Rodrigo Leyte, Sr., a farmer from Barangay Guiljungan.

Members of the RHB allegedly killed Leyte for his failure to pay revolutionary taxes.

Kahilwayan denied this, saying that they do not have any basis to kill Leyte. He, however, admitted they are responsible with the death of Leyte's son, Rodrigo Jr., alias "Dakdak", as punishment for molesting some residents of Sitio Santol.

The RHB also owned up to the killing of Marlon Pelayo and Benny Gualdario, believed to be leaders of the New People's Army operating in the hinterlands of Cauayan.

They were allegedly responsible in the series of robbery and hold-up cases in Cauayan last year.
