SHOWING tremendous defense above the net and initiating perfect ball distribution, the University of St. La Salle squad booked its third volleyball title in this year's Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association season.

Stingers' playmaker Fritz Janry Sanchez showcased an exemplary set-up of plays to his comrades to grab the secondary boy's plum against their Silay Institute counterparts over the weekend.

The Jimmy Dequilla-mentored squad trailed a 25-17 outburst in the first set and blasted 25-20 output in the following set, ending the match in 37 minutes, keeping their record unblemished since the elimination.

The La Sallian squad is composed of Jed Anton Cartagena, Fritz Janry Sanchez, Farris Andrei Santander, Alexie and Andrei Ea, Christ Andri Villanueva, Lance Wesley Balili, Dixon Ledesma, Glenn Robin Tan, Robby Ace Balquin, RB Banzuela and John Patrick Gaudiel.

The Silaynons, on the other hand, outclassed their University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (Talisay), La Consolacion College and St. Benilde School counterparts to earn their finals slot.

Battle in the Aspirants Level of the competition resumed with the St. Scholastica's Academy and the St. Benilde School notching their second victory apiece to top the Bracket A and B, respectively.

The SSA spikers defeated Trinity Christian School squad, 25-16, 25-15 during their morning scheduled match and dispatched the La Consolacion College team in the afternoon, 25-23, 25-17.

Meanwhile, the USLS-elementary boys improved their win-loss record to 2-0 after they demolished their Sta. Teresita's Academy 25-11, 25-22.
