Victims of bodol-bodol operations rise to five
By Roberto L. Bacasong

THE Bacolod City Police Office Station 1 already received five separate complaints of swindling by unidentified members of the bodol-bodol gang.
The victims are mostly aged persons, police records disclosed.

They were identified as Erlina Dagohob, 69, of Carmela Valley, Talisay City; Rosie Demonteverde, 67, of Poblacion, Ilog; and Julieta Bengan, 49, of Purok Bernadela, Barangay Mabini, Valladolid; Shirley Tagle, 36, of Aquarius St., JR Torres Subdivision, and Erlinda Yllano, 79, both of Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Chief Insp. Roderick Alba, Police Station 1 commander, said the cartographic sketches of the suspects -- a male and two females -- were posted in conspicuous places in the hope of arresting them.

Records disclosed that Dagohob lost P38,000 cash, a wristwatch and a ring.

She told the police that the suspects approached her and exchanged their knapsack containing pieces of paper with her bag containing cash, in Galo-Lacson Streets.

Demonteverde, on the other hand, fell prey to swindling last January 30 in Cuadra-Locsin streets, where she lost P17,500.

She said two unidentified persons befriended her before they swindled her.
Bengan and Tagle lost P1,500 and P100,000 cash, respectively.

Bengan said two unidentified female suspects approached her while she was walking along Araneta-Ballesteros Streets, while Tagle revealed that three persons approached her along Luzuriaga-Araneta Streets, before the swindling occurred.

Yllano said the three persons were just introduced to her, then they convinced her to exchange her bag to theirs.

She said her bag contained a diamond ring and a still undetermined amount of cash.
