Human life still 'offered' in Kanlaon
By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan

BELIEVE it or not, this Holy Week, a human life is still offered as a sacrifice in some of the secluded ceremonial grounds in Mt. Kanlaon, revealed Willy Tortosa, a known psychic in Negros Occidental.

Tortosa, also called "Toto Willy" in Bacolod City, said that until now, there are still groups of evil mystics in the province engaged in satanic rituals, including cannibalism, every Holy Week.

He said most of the victims that are being offered are children - boys or girls aged seven to 14 years old - and those who are 18 years old as long as he or she is the only boy or girl or the eldest in the family.

The manner of offering, Tortosa said, is by way of killing the victim with a bladed weapon and by sucking his or her blood.

Then, it will be followed by a very long ritual, he added.

Sucking the blood during this Holy Week, Tortosa said, is believed to strengthen the supernatural powers of the evil mystics.

However, Tortosa said this kind of ritual is being done secretly in the most secluded portion of Mt. Kanlaon.

Last year, he said a father and son were supposed to be offered in the ritual.

They, however, managed to escape but later died also due to supernatural causes. Tortosa, an incumbent councilor of Cauayan town in southern Negros, however, claimed he belongs to the group of good mystics in the country.

"I have the power to counteract any Satanic group," he further said.

Tame and manageable

Tortosa said the Lenten days from Holy Thursday to Good Friday until the Black Saturday are also the days which all harmful and poisonous insects and animals or even beasts become tame and manageable.

He also said all evil mystics take advantage of these kinds of creatures especially those found at Mt. Kanlaon and make them their servants.

Among these harmful and poisonous creatures are snakes, beetles, spiders, centipedes, and scorpions, among others.

The evil mystics usually wear black clothes in feeding them during Lenten days to gain control over these creatures.

Pilgrimage

He, however, said that Holy Week is also a sort of pilgrimage for both the good and the bad mystics, including the faith healers.

Most of the mystics do their rituals in the mountains, hidden valleys, forests, caves, islands, underwater caves, streams, rivers, cemeteries, burial grounds and other secret places.

It is to recharge their powers either for good or for bad to be used for the next year.

The good mystics, Tortosa said, usually go to the mountains, forests, seas, streams and rivers.

The bad mystics, on the other hand, are those who perform pilgrims and rituals in the caves, underwater caves, hidden valleys, cemeteries and burial grounds. These bad mystics, he said, are mostly members of cults and sects in the island.
Some of them are into digging of the dead and taking the dead's kneecaps which they believe are sources of power.

Opening of doorways

Why Holy Week?

Tortosa explained that it is only during Holy Week that the doorways of the other dimensions in this world are open.

Holy Week is also a special moment for witches and warlocks to perform rituals and gain more power from their gods and goddesses.

This power, Tortosa said, is called "Deities Power" or the power coming from different gods.

Tortosa added that Good Friday is also the time when they could avail of the power to respond to the summer equinox or planetary alignment.

This is because they are taking advantage of the absence of the Lord, Tortosa said.

Black Saturday, on the other hand, he said is also a special day for the mystics to acquire black power--a power meant to destroy creations or ruin persons through diseases and to destroy also the goodness of the Lord.

Vested powers

The good mystics, meanwhile, Tortosa said have vested powers to be used against the negative energies or negative powers of the bad mystics.

Holy Week, he added, is also a time where objects or opportunities to increase their prowess to communicate to the higher entities and to increase their hidden knowledge are available.

In the Visayas, places believed to be abundant of mystical power sources are the Tinagong Dagat at the Bukid sang Silay or the Patag area, Inampulugan Island in Guimaras where there are a number of underwater caves, Jomabo Beach in Escalante City, a dormant Bukid Manlipantao in Cauayan town, Cuernos de Negros or Bukid Talines in Negros Oriental, Mt. Kanlaon, Isla de Higantes and Bukid Baloy in Panay.

Caves serve as portals or doorways into the other world, said Tortosa.

Holy Week, Tortosa said, is also a good time for them to prepare oil (lana) which is also very significant in their healing mission.
