Cadiz police ready sketches of 2 suspects
SUPT. Mark Edison Belarma, police provincial director, ordered the police chief of Cadiz City to coordinate with the National Bureau of Investigation in coming up with the cartographic sketches of the two still unidentified suspects linked to the gang rape of a 17-year-old helper.
"We will arrest the two remaining suspects as soon as possible," Belarma said of his order to Chief Insp. Edgardo Ordaniel to conduct an in-depth probe on the case.
Named as suspects were: Senior Insp. Romeo Gigato, 47, fire chief of the Cadiz BFP; Fire Officer 1 Andrew Zamora, 30, of Purok San Pedro-Jaena streets; city casual employees detailed to the BFP Roxanne Laguera, Rogelino Cañedo and Antonio Magracia; and Alex Villanueva, the victim's employer, and former BFP volunteer employee.
All of them are detained.
The two others named only as John Doe and Peter Doe are also casual employees of the Cadiz City Hall detailed to the BFP as fire volunteers.
They are now subject of massive police manhunt operations.
All the eight suspects are now facing abduction with rape charges filed against them Monday before the Cadiz City Prosecutor's Office.
Investigation disclosed that last April 18, the suspects were having a drinking spree at Villanueva's house.
The latter, the victim said, asked her to join them and after two hours he brought the victim inside his bedroom and raped her.
The victim said she could not resist the rape because she was weak from having drunk too much liquor.
After he had molested her twice, Villanueva brought the victim to the BFP office where she was offered as a "gift" to the fire chief, in exchange of an undisclosed amount of money for Villanueva.
The victim further told case investigators that Gigato brought her inside his room and there raped her twice.
After Gigato, the victim said the other suspects took turns in raping her also in Gigato's room.
Worse, the victim further narrated that she was made a sex slave for four days inside the BFP office.
The suspects freed the victim only last April 23.
When the victim's kin learned of the incident, they immediately sought the assistance of Senior Insp. Jefferson Descallar, group commander of the 603rd Regional Mobile Group, who led the arrest of the suspect together with operatives of the Cadiz City police station. CCD
