4 Noppo cops relieved; Belarma denies politics
By Claudine Dumalag

FOUR police commissioned officers of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and one officer from the 6th Regional Mobile Group were relieved from their post effective Monday, disclosed Supt. Mark Edison Belarma, police provincial director.

The relieved police officers were Chief lnsp. Leo Erwin Agpangan, head of the Intelligence Branch at NOPPO; Senior Insp. William Señoron, head of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Group and the concurrent head of the Task Force Ilahas; Chief Insp. Jerry Bartolome, chief of police in Talisay City; lnsp. Virgilio Dela Cruz, chief of police of Moises Padilla town; and Police Senior Insp. Mark Vicente Ogates, from the 6th RMG.

Belarma said that Agpangan will replace Bartolome, while Bartolome will head the 2nd PMG.

Señoron, on the other hand, is detailed as the new Intelligence head in NOPPO, Dela Cruz will replace the post of Ogates while Ogates will be transferred to Noppo.

The relief of the five commissioned police officers came two weeks after the relief of Senior Supt. Vicente Ponteras, former police provincial director last April 23.

Ponteras is supposed to end his two-year term on August 22 of this year yet.
But the relief order was approved by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Region 6, Belarma said.

Belarma, however, denied that the reshuffling of assignments was politically motivated.

"This is not politically motivated. This is actually a normal routine of the PNP personnel, the changing of guards. This was decided by the Comelec, not me," said Belarma.

But earlier, he belied reports of a reshuffling of policemen in the province, saying "there is no order yet from the Philippine National Police Regional Office and Comelec."

Moreover, Belarma said that Supt. Michael Bisagas, Himamaylan City police chief, has requested for his "availability to transfer" before the office of the Comelec.

Belarma added that Bisagas opted to be transferred to the National Capital Region.

He further said that if Comelec will grant Bisagas' request, Supt. Milko Lirazan, who has just finished his schooling will replace Bisagas.

Señoron told Sun.Star Bacolod that they received persistent reports on their relief prior to the order.

Señoron, however, refused to give further comment on his relief.
