KBS leads Sum-ag caging
By Fernelle C. Rodriguez

DRIBBLERS of Team KBS reigned over their rival teams in the semifinals of the 2004 SK Summer Basketball League this week.

Organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. Sum-ag under Chairman Portia Grace Gelesanga and Commissioner Jose Maria Medina, the hostilities are being supported by the Barangay Council of Sum-ag headed by Punong Barangay Benjamin Macasa.

Team KBS defeated rival team Brotherhood last Wednesday, 82-64, to gain a slot in the waiting line.

Fielding a whopping 38 points for KBS was cager Javier (7) followed by Cumbalon (22) and Jonko who scored 13 and 10 points each, respectively.

Top scorers for team Brotherhood were Arcenio (42) and Tiberio (1) with 19 and 10 points, respectively.

Teams Brotherhood and San Jose already settled their stiff competition last Tuesday, according to Gelesanga. The game was paused after parents from team San Jose allegedly created a commotion and accused the tournament's technical officials of incongruency. However, the San Jose team conceded in the last 5.28 seconds when the game resumed due to the 11-point advantage of the rival team.

Brotherhood topped the game with 58 points with San Jose going home with 47.
Last Monday's game was between KBS and Riverside where the former won, 63-61.

San Jose's plight was being decided in a closed door meeting yesterday with the officials of the game and the technical officials who said they won't handle any game where San Jose is playing because of the harsh treatment they received from their supporters, disclosed Gelesanga.

Team KBS is now on the waiting position, securing a slot in the finals. However, they have to face the team who will rule in Friday's game between Brotherhood or Riverside.

The caging started last April 17 and is being played every evening.
