YBAC, A-1 gas aim second wins By Fernelle C. Rodriguez
CAGERS from the Your Basketball Athletic Club/Emarken and the Negros Occidental Basketball Club/A-1 Gas will once again dust the hardcourt in the ongoing Negros Basketball Association Summer Basketball Tournament.
The YBAC/Emarken will face the Ceres/University of Saint La Salle team at 5:30 p.m. at the Pohang Gym of the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Saturday.
But before the two teams set the hardcourt on fire, two teams will gear up at 4 p.m., namely, Toyota Innova/Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and NHOJ's Sportswear.
The Negros Occidental Basketball Club/A-1 Gas will be facing the Shakey's Metro/ JS Shell/University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Also making a mark in tomorrow's game are the hardcourt aces of Ceres/University of Saint La Salle and Toyota Innova/Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod at 5:45 p.m.
The Negros Occidental Basketball Club/A-1 Gas team secured a win over the much-anticipated Pandanon's Best cagers composed of players from the West Negros College Mustangs in the opening games held last April 3, 57-52.
The YBAC cagers won over the team from Toyota Innova/Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, 122-79.
The league is organized by NBA president Oscar "Dodong" Bascon with league commissioner Monju Guanzon.
Participating teams are, for Bracket A- LA's Sipalay, A-1/NOBC, Pandanon's Best and Shakey's Metro/JS Shell/University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos; and Bracket B - YBAC/Emarken, Ceres Liner/University of Saint La Salle, Toyota Innova/CSA-B and NHOJ's Sportswear.
Guest in the opening ceremonies was Philippine Basketball League commissioner Chino Trinidad.
